Alexandra Tragaki is a Professor of Economic Demography at the Department of Geography of Harokopio University. She has served as President of the Department during 2015-2017 and from 2020 until today she is Assoc. Chairman. She holds a degree in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’s and PhD in Economic Demography from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). She has been a member of Harokopio University since 2002, while previously she has worked as a consultant in the Economic Research and Analysis Unit of the Council of Economic Experts (SOE) of the Ministry of National Economy (2000-2002) and as a researcher at the Institute of Economics and Industry. , specializing in social security issues. Her research interests include demographic developments and their interactions with the economy, economic policy issues with an emphasis on Social Security and the labor market, immigration and statistical analysis.
