Konstantinos Michalakis | Applications of Intelligent Human-Computer Interactions

The constant use and integration of smart devices in our daily lives, has allowed a new era where man interacts with the computer during more and more activities. The modern citizen visits a clever museum in search of a personalized cultural experience or explores a city using his portable devices. In the context of  Konstantinos Michalakis’s talk, technologies, devices and applications are presented that support the intelligent human-computer interaction, as well as relevant actions of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of the Aegean.

Konstantinos Michalakis is a PhD Candidate of the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication (TPTE) with the title: “Context Awareness and Interaction on the Internet of Things”. In 2015 he graduated from the Postgraduate Program “Cultural Informatics and Communication” of TPTE. In 2003 he graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics of the Polytechnic School of the University of Patras. He is a permanent teacher of Informatics in schools of secondary education in the prefecture of Lesvos since 2006. He has taught courses in Informatics to students of private universities as well. He has also provided auxiliary educational work to Undergraduate students while he has supervised the elaboration of postgraduate theses. In the past (2004-2006) he worked as an IT Executive at Printec SA. He has published articles in journals and conferences related to research interests such as: Internet of Things – Diffuse Computing, Context Awareness, Semantic Web, Smart Home – Office – City, Smart Interfaces, Smart Health – Ambient Assisted Living, Augmented Reality, User.
